FACULTY POSITION IN COMPARATIVE AND WORLD LITERATURE
The Department of Turkish Literature at Bilkent University invites applications for a faculty appointment (open rank) in Comparative and World Literature. While the field of specialization is open, we are particularly interested in candidates with a demonstrated ability to teach graduate courses in comparative literary studies, literary theory and/or criticism that situate Modern Turkish Literature (from the Tanzimat Era to the present) within broader regional and global contexts, in addition to general courses in comparative literature, literary theory, and literary criticism. Preference will be given to those who can demonstrate excellence in research, publications and teaching. An ability to teach in Turkish is welcome but not required.
Academic rank, salary and teaching-load will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Bilkent University, located in suburban Ankara, was founded in 1984 as the first private research university in Turkey. The medium of instruction throughout the university is English.
