Bilkent University is a beneficiary of IDEoPOP, a HORIZON-MSCA-2023-DN-01-01 project funded with over 2,4 million €, in which 13 partners participate and is coordinated by Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg in Germany. Prof. Pınar Bilgin from the Departments of International Relations, and Political Science and Public Administration is leading the training and research team at Bilkent University.
The project is entitled “International Dimensions and Effects of Populism” and focuses on the foreign policy orientation and outcomes of populism to pursue training-based research. In collaboration with a partner from Bath University, Prof. Bilgin will co-supervise two PhD students focusing on the sub-theme of how populist political parties see the world and understand the international. The team based in Bilkent will also contribute to the collaborative teaching and research effort and organise a workshop in Ankara.
IDEoPOP will last for four years and is expected to generate strong and enduring international scientific ties.
