U.S. Embassy Small Grants Program has been launched. Funding is available to support projects that:
Reinforce U.S.-Turkish Shared Values: Projects which promote U.S. culture, including music, art, sports, and education, including American Studies, English and promotion of studying in the United States, or which support human rights, women’s and youth empowerment, diversity and acceptance of minority groups, and other areas of mutual interest that promote freedom and democracy.
Strengthen Economic Prosperity: Projects which encourage trade and investment between the United States and Turkey, and support entrepreneurship and innovation. Projects which support science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) among Turkish youth.
Building Cross-Cultural Understanding – Projects which use cultural, educational, or public awareness activities to advance understanding between Turkish and American societies, national and regional cultures/subcultures, and faith/ethnic/linguistic communities. Proposals with an American component will be viewed more favorably.
Outreach to Youth – Projects which target youth populations, with emphasis on youth exchanging ideas and working together. Projects targeting youth populations who are economically disadvantaged will be viewed favorably.
Outreach / Connection with Underserved or Marginalized Populations – Projects which target underserved populations, to include those who are economically disadvantaged, migrant populations, and populations outside of major metropolitan areas.
Call for Proposals will CLOSE on June 28th 2017
The total amount requested per grant cannot exceed $24,500.
