Bilkent University’s Innovative Technologies Took Center Stage at the ÜSİMP National Patent Fair

December 8, 2025 Written by ttoweb

Bilkent University Technology Transfer Office (TTO) participated in the National Patent Fair, held on 27–28 November 2025 by the University-Industry Collaboration Centers Platform (ÜSİMP), with a stand showcasing six innovative technologies, four of which are protected by patents. The fair brought together TTOs from 27 leading universities in Turkey.

The technologies exhibited at the fair—developed as a result of pioneering research conducted by faculty members Assoc. Prof. Onur Özcan, Assoc. Prof. Onur Tokel, Assoc. Prof. Bilge Baytekin, Assoc. Prof. Ercüment Çiçek, Dr. Cihan Okay, and Dr. Eda Gürel—attracted significant interest from industrial organizations, universities, and technology transfer institutions. The Bilkent TTO team was accompanied by the inventors during the promotion of these technologies.

By participating in the fair, Bilkent TTO contributed to strengthening a national culture of collaboration, co-creation, shared learning, and design. It also supported the strengthening of academia–industry cooperation, the dissemination of knowledge and experience related to technology transfer, and more effective implementation of policy, strategy, and standardization efforts in this field.

Ebru Başak Aköz, Director of the Bilkent University Technology Transfer Office (TTO), served as the moderator of the Manufacturing Technologies Panel held within the scope of the R&D and Design Centers Symposium. She facilitated an engaging discussion among industry & university representatives, managing a comprehensive session on current developments and innovative practices in manufacturing technologies.
