February 4, 2026 Written by ttoweb

Bilkent University National Nanotechnology Research Center (UNAM) is a consortium partner in the SENSOR-HUB project, which has been awarded funding under a call for proposals by the European Commission aimed at establishing European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIH) in Türkiye.

The SENSOR-HUB project, which will be coordinated by Sabancı University Nanotechnology Research and Application Center (SUNUM), involves Bilkent University UNAM, TÜBİTAK MAM, METU MEMS Center, Gebze Technical University, Anadolu Technology Research Park, BC Partnering, and Arçelik in its consortium. The project aims to accelerate digital transformation in industry, increase the competitiveness of businesses, and create a sustainable digital innovation ecosystem on a regional scale.

Within the scope of the project, UNAM will contribute to companies’ R&D and digital transformation processes with its advanced research infrastructure and interdisciplinary scientific expertise in the field of sensor technologies. In this context, activities will be carried out to provide mentorship to companies wishing to develop projects in the field of sensor technologies, strengthen their R&D capacities, create roadmaps for the digitization of existing infrastructures, and develop permanent cooperation mechanisms. These activities aim to transfer academic knowledge to industry and increase the commercialization potential of advanced sensor technologies.

The project, planned to be carried out over a total of 36 months, is expected to be officially launched in the coming months after the completion of the contract processes with all stakeholders.
