The Newton Research Collaboration Programme is a component of the UK Newton Fund, which aims to develop science and innovation partnerships to promote the economic development and social welfare of developing countries which are Brazil, Malaysia, Mexico, Turkey, South Africa and Vietnam.
The main focus of the programme is to facilitate international exchanges lasting between three months and one year between researchers in the UK and their counterparts in selected Newton Fund Partner Countries.
Exchanges can be either one- or two-way in direction, and should form part of a collaborative research project, incorporating visits and dissemination activities.
In the scope of this scheme, a broad range of disciplines is regarded as ‘engineering’ for the purposes of this scheme, including (among many others) biotechnology, petrochemicals, offshore engineering, geotechnics, water resources, building services, telecommunications, optics, lasers, information technology, energy conservation, manufacturing, applied mechanics, bioengineering, materials, aeronautical, maritime will be supported.
This scheme is now open for applications. The deadline of the applications is 14 September 2016.
Applications can only be submitted by the UK researcher.
