H2020 ERC Advanced Grant call will be closed on 1st of September, 2016.
The objective of the ERC is in addition to present national and international programs, supporting the frontier research which are conducted by individual teams to strengthen excellence, dynamism and creativity in Europe and to make Europe as an attraction center for the best researchers.
All the decisions of ERC are made by ERC Scientific Council independent from European Commission.
The proposals should be;
– Controlled by the researcher (the topics and the scope of the project are decided by the researchers)
– Coordinated by individual researchers and research teams (PhD degree researchers, PhD students, engineers, technicians, etc.)
– Bordering on or pushing the limits of current scientific paradigms.
– Focused on excellence.
ERC Advanced Grant
ERC Advanced Grant provides an opportunity for the applicants a budget of 2,500,000 € to make their ideas come real. The applicants for the ERC Advanced Grant are expected to be active researchers who have a track-record of significant research achievements in the last 10 years and own a research team. In some special conditions it can be up to 3,500,000 €. These additional grants can be used to cover costs of Principal Investigators moving to the EU or an Associated Country from elsewhere (ABD, CANADA, Japan, etc.) as a consequence of receiving the ERC grant, and/or for the purchase of major equipment and/or access to large facilities.
