Dr. Louise Barry holds a BA (hons) Trinity College Dublin, a DEA (MA) from University of Lille III, France and a PhD in French Literature from Emory University, Atlanta USA.
Her doctoral thesis was entitled “Reflections of Versailles: Literature in the Gardens of the Sun King” and her research interests lie in the areas of Renaissance and seventeenth-century aesthetics, cultural history and literature.
Her publications include “Gardens of Paradise”, introduction to P-Art and Culture’s special issue on “Gardens and Culture”, Spring 2004, and “The Rhetoric of Ostentation in the Representation of Versailles: La Fontaine’s Grotto of Thetis” Seventeenth Century French Studies, Vol. 25, 2003.
She joined the CCI program in 2002.
