Dr. Işık Yuluğ graduated from the Department of Biology at Hacettepe University in 1985. She then earned her M.Sc. degree in Medical Biology at Hacettepe University Medical School in 1988 and her Ph.D. degree in Molecular Genetics at Imperial College of Science in 1996.
Since 2004 she is an associate professor in the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics at Bilkent University and since 2014 she is the chair of the department.
