The results of the TÜBİTAK BİDEB 2232-A / 2232-B International Leading/Young Researchers Program for the first term of 2024 have been announced. The aim of the program is to encourage qualified researchers who have made significant scientific and technological contributions in their fields and have experience working abroad, to return to Turkey. According to the announcement published by TÜBİTAK, 40 researchers have qualified for support to come to Turkey and initiate their projects during this term. These researchers have been affiliated with universities ranked in the top 150 in the QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) or THE (Times Higher Education) World University Rankings, or have worked in the top 2500 companies worldwide for R&D expenditures, as published by the European Commission Joint Research Centre. Additionally, they are ranked in the Scimago Institutions Ranking.
In this context, we are pleased to announce that Bilkent University will host two researchers. Dr. Aydın Cem Keser, with his project titled “Langevin Machines: A Physical Computing Paradigm for Resource Efficient Learning, Inference, and Optimization Tasks in Autonomous Robotics,” will carry out his research in the Department of Physics. Dr. Melih Baştopçu, with his project titled “Advancing Information Design and Timeliness in Next-Generation Communication Systems,” will conduct his research in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Both researchers will carry out their research activities for 36 months.
