The Quantum Devices and Sensors Research Group at Bilkent is led by Professor Hilmi Volkan Demir.
Our research work focuses on proposing, developing and demonsrating innovative chip-scale devices and sensors embedded with functional quantum structures for the applications of lighting, displays, imaging, communications, sensing, alternative energy generation, and environmental decontamination. Our research work spans device conception, modeling, material synthesis, growth and characterization, device fabrication and testing, and system-level applications.
Our research group consists of research students, researchers, and scholars from different disciplines and background including physics, applied physics, electrical engineering, materials science, and chemistry. Our research work is supported by TUBITAK (The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey), TUBA (Turkish Academy of Sciences), ESF (European Science Foundation), European Commission, National Institutes of Health (US-NIH), Republic of Turkey Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology and industrial programs and projects.
