Dr. Cécile Malet-Peterson has a BA and MA in languages and literature from the University of Nantes (France) and a PhD in Literature from Goldsmiths’ College (University of London).

Her doctoral thesis was on “Evil in Gothic Fiction, 1764-1820”. She is currently writing a book on a trial for witchcraft which took place in early 17th century southern France.

Her publications include articles and contributions to books on Gothic authors, and she has presented papers in numerous conferences.

She has taught at DePauw University (Indiana, USA) and Washington University (Seattle, USA) but also in various countries, at different schools and levels, in French and English.

She joined Bilkent University’s Translation & Interpretation Department in September 2012 and the CCI Program in February 2014.
